Gregor and I haven’t been on a surf holiday for a while. We actually talked about it a few years ago and he mentioned Costa Rica. I nodded and agreed we’d go. We’ve been on plenty of surf trips together, but always cold water surfing. The idea of sliding across the ocean in boardies with that bearded fellow is a great one.
Then recently (and ironically enough) we got speaking to a close doctor friend of ours who heard about what we’re doing with Who Buys Your Stuff? He told us his brother runs a luxury surf accommodation in none other than Costa Rica, so we reached out.
Kalon Surf is probably one of the world’s best luxury surf destinations. Their service has won awards, they’ve been featured in Forbes and USA Today, they have direct access to some really incredible Costa Rican surf, and people leave 5 star reviews about their rooms and spa for a very good reason. They know their stuff.
When we first spoke to the owner, Kjeld, we were thinking about a surf holiday – but by the time we put down the phone we were telling him all about WBYS? and explaining how we can help Kalon Surf identify their lead persona, which would help them increase bookings, up-sell their offering and provide a memorable service.
What Kjeld has done with Kalon Surf is really something special. Working with them has been an amazing experience, and Kjeld was kind enough to say a few words about us:
“The guys at WBYS? have really uncovered a quantifiable and commercial key to Kalon. From on-site optimisation and acquiring the right customers faster, all the way through to offering guests more relevant products and service – bottom line impact has been incredible.”
We’re going to keep in touch with Kjeld, check in on bookings and revenue increases etc, but I have a feeling that my long awaited surf trip in boardies with the Scotsman is just around the corner.
Kjeld, nothing but love for you and the incredible destination that is Kalon Surf.
